Crime of the Century

I can see you in the morning when you go to school
Don’t forget your books, you know you’ve got to learn the golden rule,
Teacher tells you stop your play and get on with your work
And be like Johnnie-too-good, well don’t you know he never shirks
He’s coming along..

After school is over you’re playing in the park
Don’t be out too late, don’t let it get too dark
They tell you not to hang around and learn what life’s about
And grow up just like them, won’t you let it work it out
And you’re full of doubt

Don’t do this and don’t do that
What are they trying to do?
Make a good boy of you
Do they know where it’s at?
Don’t criticize, they’re old and wise
Do as they tell you to
Don’t want the devil to
Come out and put your eyes

Maybe I’m mistaken expecting you to fight
Or maybe I’m just crazy, I don’t know wrong from right
But while I am still living, I’ve just got this to say
It’s always up to you if you want to be that
Want to see that
Want to see that way
You’re coming along

Are we “coming along”? What did Trump do?  Make a list of the richest and yet, most unqualified, candidates and then nominate them for cabinet positions? In what alternate universe is DeVos even remotely qualified to be Secretary of Education? Let’s see, she never taught in school.  She was never a school administrator.  She never went to public school nor did she ever send her kids to public school. The woman is grossly unqualified, as Senator Franken so deftly exposed.

So, why then?  Why was she nominated and just as importantly, why are all but two republican senators going to vote for her?  Let me give you 200 million reasons.

The woman plagiarized some of her Senate answers.  Our Education Secretary nominee plagiarized her answers!  How is that not immediately disqualifying?  Oh, right…These are her personal contributions to republican Senators.

Is this their idea of “making America great again”? This is shameful and it’s indefensible. Crime of the Century, indeed.

  1. The real question is how we the people can get money out of our elected official’s pockets.? . DeVos bought each and every vote. The 2 Republican senators that voted against her were given permission to do so. It wasn’t so brave and independent as it seemed.
There will be a lot of pushback and the States still have a lot of say but it’s the money she will control, lots of it. She will not get any respect and hopefully in 4 years, we can rebuild what she has destroyed
