What do you make of this dust up between Fox News and Trump? Has Fox News finally met their match? Let’s take a look at this situation and see who’s right and who’s wrong.
This goes back to the last Fox debate where Megyn Kelly had the nerve to question Trump about some sexist comments he had previously made. Trump had a hissy fit and went on to attack her character. Fox, to their credit, mostly stood up for their employee.
Now, there’s another Fox News debate tonight and Trump called Fox to try to get a moderator other than Kelly. Trump is used to getting his own way and when Fox would not capitulate, he decided that he would not appear. Ted Cruz has pounced on this and so have many media figures. “If Trump is scared of Megyn Kelly, how will he be able to deal with Putin?” is what I’ve been hearing. It’s a valid point. Trump better develop thicker skin if he wants to be president.
What’s even more interesting to me though is how Fox News handled this. Here is the statement they issued:
We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president — a nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings.
Now, this is a really funny statement and it’s spot on in its biting, satirical way. However, isn’t Fox supposed to be a legitimate news organization? This is completely inappropriate. Can you imagine the uproar(and rightly so) if NBC or CNN had issued such a statement? If anyone needed any more proof, all these years later, that Fox News is a joke, here it is.
So, to sum it up, a pox on both of their houses. Fox and Trump deserve each other.
Now, the obvious musical choice here would be Foxy Lady. As much as I love Jimi, I just hate to be that obvious. Reynardine has a long, literary history, dating back to Chaucer. Look it up!
