I was going to write about guns today but honestly, I don’t have much hope that anything will change in the U.S. any time soon. Second Amendment hardliners are way too entrenched to even agree to common sense proposals like better background checks and closing the gun show loophole. I could write pages on this topic and probably will at a later date but today, I just don’t have much hope that things will change for the better, as it relates to gun violence. I thought President Obama spoke eloquently yesterday but he knows there is not much hope of change.
It’s Friday and some of us are feeling beaten down a bit. We need hope that things will eventually change for the better. And for me, the sure fire way to lift my spirits is through music. So I’m going to post a link to a song that always makes me feel better, even if it has a slight melancholy feel to it. Do me a favor and if you’re reading this, give it a listen, let me know what you think, and then leave me a comment with a link to a song that lifts your spirits. I promise to listen to whatever song you post.
This song, by the way, is by Roy Buchanan, who was a phenomenal guitarist and a soulful singer. His career has been criminally overlooked.
